Abstract (en)

The base (9) and side walls (5,6,7,8) of a ceiling-mounted ("cassette") air conditioner are fabricated as a one-piece moulding in an expanded, thermally insulating plastics material such as polystyrene. Compared with known designs, mass production is thereby made simpler, as is installation because of the relatively lighter weight of the air conditioner. <IMAGE>
