[origin: EP0821295A1] The device controls at least one control element (4) or a load. It has an operator side first switch member (7) to generate at least one switch action for a control command with a first sign. It also has a second switch member (8) to generate at least one switch action for a control command with the opposite sign. The device also has at least one output (2,3) to actuate the control element (4) or the load according to the sign of the control command. A control execution circuit (11) has a recognition device (12,13) for the characteristics of each switch action. A switch-over control device (14) is actuated by the recognition devices (12,13). The control device (14) directly conveys or stores the switch actions. The device also has a pulse input (24) for a continuous train of count pulses. The device also includes 24 hour counters (22,23) for the count pulses. The counters have a count limit triggered by the stored switch action. Each counter (22,23) generates a control command for the control element (4) or the load on reaching the count limit.
