Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0821369A2] The metallic cable mantle (10) has a ratio between its inner diameter (Di) and its outer diameter (Da) of more than 0.9. It is made from a corrugated metal sleeve with a wall thickness (s) which is between 0.09 and 0.005 times its outer diameter. The spacing (p) between the adjacent corrugations is between 0.12 and 0.08 times the outer diameter of the mantle, with a corrugation depth of between 0.08 and 0.01 times the outer diameter. The corrugated metal sleeve is more than 15% shorter in length than the smooth metal sleeve from which it is formed.
