Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0821382A1] The Automatic Arc Extinguisher has a fixed contact arc (5-5A) and moving assembly contact (3). There is an upper compression volume, and an upper forward area of arc extinguishing. A valve (17) controls entry and exit to the arc extinguishing area. The valve is opened and closed by fixed rods (22,22') sliding in piston openings (19). Gases passing through the forward area (14) near the contacts extinguish the arc.
