Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9632875A1] Known towel dispensers have a complex and failure-prone mechanism and take up a relatively large space. Towel rollers are uncomfrotable and oft non-hygienic to exchange; their transport and storage are costly. A process and a device for carrying out the same eliminate these disadvantages in that the strip of material (2) is guided from a clean area (V1) into a used area (V2) at the back (R) of the apparatus (1), and in that the position or height of a corresponding partition (11) may be controlled. The stock of clean strip of material (2) is preferably monitored and when it is spent, the remaining strip of material (2) is drawn in a defined manner, preventing the towel from being accidentally reused. In one embodiment, usual towel rollers are dispensed with. The strip of material (2, 2') is folded in both areas and is thus easy and hygienic to handle. A system with cassettes that may be exchanged as a whole is also provided.
