Abstract (en)
The drive arrangement is intended for a metal extrusion press with one or several parallel piston-cylinder units (23, 24) between the cylinder and counter plates (21, 22), tools (27, 28, 29) and auxiliary piston-cylinder units (34) for return and no-load strokes. The sealed piston rods (25, 26) have the same diameters on both sides of the cylinders (23); these cylinders have chambers (23a, 23b) with the same effective working areas; the working chambers (23a, 23b) are connected to one another by a short-circuit line (35) with a switchable blocking valve (36) which is closed for a working stroke. Also claimed is a metal extrusion press with such a drive arrangement.
