Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0822018A1] The tool has a transmission system with an electric motor, reduction gear and crown wheel controlling a shoe which moves relative to its curved template. It has a series of components located coaxially with the template to control the angle of the pipe bend, namely a cover (8) which is fixed to the template and has a threaded edge, an angular skirt (10) with two safety stops (11A, 11B), a crown wheel with graduated scale markings, a stop to engage with the safety stops, and a locking member. An auxiliary crown wheel is adjusted by the user so that the pointers on it are aligned with the graduated scale for the required pipe bend angle. When the drive motor is switched on the shoe travels round the edge of the template through the set angle, producing a pipe bend of the required curvature.
