Preparation of nicotine-free tobacco flavoured oil, comprises: (a) emulsifying a tobacco flavouring oil containing nicotine with an aqueous acidic solution ; (b) separation of the emulsion into aqueous and oil phases ; (c) isolation of the oil phase. Also claimed are (i) preparation using carbon dioxide to extract tobacco or a primary extract in order to form the starting material for step (a) and (ii) nicotine-free tobacco flavoured oils prepared by these methods.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein nikotinfreies Tabakaromaöl sowie ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellung, wobei ein nikotinhaltiges Tabakaromaöl mit einer wäßrigen, sauren Lösung emulgiert wird, die Emulsion in eine wäßrige Phase und eine Ölphase getrennt wird und die Ölphase isoliert wird, oder wobei man von einem nikotinhaltigem Tabak oder einem aus Tabak hergestellten nikotinhaltigem Primärextrakt als Startmaterial ausgeht und dieses mit Kohlendioxid extrahiert, man dann die Kohlendioxid-Ex-traktlösung durch eine saure, wäßrige Lösung leitet und vor dem Abscheidebehälter über ein Feststoffadsorbensgemisch leitet. <IMAGE>
