[origin: EP0822561A2] In the production of a stoved enamel wire one or more electrical wire filaments (1) are coated in an insulating layer, drawn through a coating applicator (4) whose melting chamber (8) is fed with a meltable thermoplastic or thermosetting stoving material and then the wire with coating (67) is cooled. Process equipment includes the coating applicator (4) with a melting chamber for the stoving polymer, an inlet (9) for one or more electrical filaments (1), a coating chamber (12) and a calibrator (5) at the outlet. The claimed stove enamelled wire comprises one or more electrical wire filaments, an insulating layer and a stoved enamel layer (67) of a thermoplastic or thermoset material.
