Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0822577A2] The lamp has a bulb (1) containing an inert gas and two electrodes. An auxiliary ignition electrode (2) is mounted outside the bulb and extends along the bulb close to its surface. The auxiliary ignition electrode rests on protrusions (4) on the lamp bulb surface. The protrusions are made from the same material as the bulb and are formed in pairs on both sides of the auxiliary ignition electrode.
