[origin: WO9731509A1] The invention concerns a plasma torch with transmitted arcs for direct current, gas being supplied through at least two parallel superimposed rows of apertures. In order to ensure that the torch gas swirls satisfactorily, a baffle wall is associated with part of the aperture rows. By varying the gas pressure in an oscillating manner, the spot of the arc is also continuously displaced in the axial direction. An additional gas supply is arranged such that gases can be introduced directly into the plasma jet.
