[origin: EP0823297A1] A method is claimed for the fabrication of metal plates with localised variations in thickness and destined to be subjected to a deformation operation, such as pressing. Before subjecting the plates (1) to the deformation operation, at least one super-thickness (2) is fixed on at least one of the faces of the plates in some appropriate places by means of an adhesive (3) that is sticky and ductile at ambient temperature able to form a layer fixing itself firmly to the face of the plates and to the super-thickness applied on it, in a manner to form a rigid whole.
