Abstract (en)
The machine folds over a paper section (14, 15) in the area of a conveyor section (11). A guide slot (30) feeds the material section over the conveyor extend and has a width, which at least over a part of the section is constant, or the slot in cross-section is at least partly curved with a radius which is greater than the slot width. At least one edge of the guide slot evolves from a virtually even shape in the conveyor direction constantly into an increasingly curved form. In particular, the guide slot at the inlet (31) has its greatest curvature radius.

Eine Faltvorrichtung (1) weist nach einer Vorfaltung (18) zur rechtwinkligen Aufstellung eines Randstreifens (14, 15) einer Lagenbahn (12) einen im Querschnitt sowie im Längsverlauf gekrümmten Leitschlitz (30) auf, in welchem der Randstreifen zur Bildung zweier Z-förmig aufeinanderliegender Faltstreifen (14, 15) allein durch Gleitführung im Durchlauf gefaltet wird. Dadurch ergibt sich auf kurzer Arbeitsstrecke und bei hoher Durchlaufgeschwindigkeit eine sehr genaue Faltung. <IMAGE>
