Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0823501A1] In the selection of the moving hooks, in the shed harness of a Jacquard loom, a force (F3) is applied to the hook (9) at or near its top dead position to move it towards the bottom dead position. Also claimed is a hook selection mechanism, which has elastic butts (20,21) which give the force (F3) applied to the hook (9) at or near its top dead position to move it towards the bottom dead position. Preferably the force (F3) is equal to the friction forces (F1,F2) produced by the grip (15,24) on the needle (9) and the inertia forces. Two hooks (9) are displaced alternately by two griffes (10) in opposing phases. Elastic butts (20,21), acting on the hooks, have a lever which can be moved against spring pressure by the hook (9) on reaching its top dead position through the action of the hook on the lever shape. The lever (20) is a simple support, to turn on two axes (21) under spring pressure, which can be a torsion spring. The elastic butts (20,21) are part of the module forming the election system of a number of modules side by side with the hooks.
