Abstract (en)
The safety barrier is e.g. fitted to the posts of an existing crash barrier below its rail to save motorcyclists in the event of a fall. It consists of lengthwise members (1) which can be fitted to adjacent posts by moving them in a direction perpendicular to the posts. Each has two opposite impact surfaces (4) facing towards neighbouring carriageways. The two ends (3) of each lengthwise member are shaped so that they overlap the ends of adjacent members where they are fastened to the posts, and they are made with recesses (6) for the posts and holes (8) for fixing bolts. The lengthwise elements are made e.g. by extrusion with an inner honeycomb structure. In a variant of the design the lengthwise members can have holes in their ends which slide into place on horizontal tubes fastened to the posts.

L'invention est relative à une barrière de sécurité pour voie de circulation, destinée notamment à arrêter un motard après une chute, apte à être montée sur des poteaux (11) régulièrement espacés le long d'une première voie de circulation. Elle est constituée par une pluralité d'éléments longitudinaux (1) disposés de façon contiguë dans l'alignement les uns des autres, chaque élément longitudinal (1) étant agencé de manière à pouvoir être mis en place sur deux poteaux adjacents (11) par déplacement suivant une direction perpendiculaire aux poteaux. <IMAGE>
