[origin: DE19516830A1] A pressing tool for joining a tubular element (1) to an element (2) arranged inside the tubular element (1) and that substantially fits its inner diameter has at least one pressing jaw and a ring-shaped pressure distributing element (3) arranged between the pressing jaw and the outer circumference of the tubular element. The pressure distributing element (3) behaves like an incompressible liquid, surrounds the junction area of the elements (1, 2) to be joined and distributes the pressure generated by the pressing jaw around the outer circumference of the tubular element. Also disclosed is a process for joining a tubular element to an element arranged inside the tubular element and that substantially fits its inner diameter. For that purpose, pressure is simultaneously and uniformly distributed around the circumference of the tubular element, so as to avoid leaks.
