[origin: WO9635961A1] An Airport Surface Detection Radar (ASDR) including a transmitting antenna (116), a transmitter (110), which transmits a substantially linearly frequency modulated CW signal via the transmitting antenna (116), a monopulse receiving antenna (118) and a monopulse receiver which receives at least one response from a target on an airport surface via the receiving antenna (118), generates azimuthal sum and difference signals and determines the position of the target responsive to the instantaneous sum and difference signals and orientation of the antennas.
