Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19516338C1] A connection terminal for use with electrical cables has a base with a centrally located cutter (8). The cutter has blades at both ends (13). The cable ends are inserted (14) into the housing and adopt a curved profile (14). The insulation is removed from the ends by pressing plungers (5, 12), the tips of which press against profiled cams (10) with part of the surface having a gear tooth profile. As the plungers are moved the cam rotates to apply force with the toothed profile and at the same time aids in the cutting and removal of the insulation.
