[origin: WO9741759A1] To adjust the spring characteristic of slats (22) of a slatted frame the invention proposes to provide on adjacent slats (22) additional spring members (40) to be adjustable in the longitudinal direction of said slats. Said additional spring members co-operate with a suspended spring section (44) with a support strip (28) which is fastened to the framework of the slatted frame to extend between and below the slats (22). The support strips (28) have inclined strip sections (32, 36) to increase the adjustment range of the additional springiness.
