[origin: DE19515552A1] A sequence-specific nucleic acid labelling process includes generating labelled nucleic acid fragments by an enzymatic labelling reaction, during which a labelled deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate is attached to a nucleic acid primer molecule and the nucleic acid sequence is determined based on the labelled deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates. The labelling reaction is carried out in a single test tube in the presence of one or several nucleic acid primer molecules and at least two labelled deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates at the same time. The deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates have different labelling groups and different bases. The labelling reaction is carried out in such conditions that only one type of labelled deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate is attached to each nucleic acid primer molecule.
