[origin: EP0826439A1] The method concerns bending of a pipe (1) with a rectangular cross section and a protruding fold (2) which adjoins a pipe outer surface (4) oriented perpendicular to the bending edge, and is compressed during the bending process. The method is characterised by the fact that before or at the start of the bending process, the fold is subjected to a force and is notched on the bending angle bisector intersecting with the bending edge. This force has the same direction as the fold bulge (31) being formed during bending. Also claimed, in addition to an apparatus summarized below, is a resultant angle piece.
