[origin: EP0826496A2] A tampon pad printing machine (1) holds a tampon (13) within a printing assembly (2). The printing assembly (2) moves back and forth between an ink pick-up unit (3) and a cleaning unit (4). The novelty is that the cleaning unit (4) is located beneath the ink pick-up point (3). The cleaning unit (4) advances to the cleaning point (27), with respect to the ink pick-up point (3).
