[origin: EP0826804A1] A method to splice a yarn, at an open end spinner comprises using a mobile maintenance unit travelling along the line of spinning stations with manipulators. The manipulators have a common movement phase and, when necessary, an individual movement phase. Also claimed is an appts. where the manipulators (4) are fitted to a common carrier (5). The carrier (5) is moved by a drive (50) between at least two operating positions (I,II), under the direction of a control unit (6).
