Abstract (en)
The compound absorbent nonwoven material has a soft and a roughened surface, formed by at least two bonded fibre layers. The first layer is wholly or partially of thermofusible synthetic fibres, pref. of polyolefin. The second layer is of natural and/or artificial and/or synthetic fibres, thinner than the fibres of the first layer, and with a higher fusible temp. than the fibres of the first layer. The first fibre layer is processed to orient its fibres to be interlaced with the fibres of the second layer, and also give a looped effect on an outer surface of the material. Also claimed is a mfg. process, where the layers are brought together by fluid jets directed at least at the layer of thermofusible fibres, upstream of the needle bonding stage, at the surface which will be roughened in the finished material.

Matériau complexe non tissé absorbant comportant une face souple et une face rugueuse, constitué d'au moins deux nappes fibreuses superposées, liées entre elles par interpénétration des fibres dans le sens de l'épaisseur et dans lequel : la première nappe est constituée pour tout ou partie de fibres synthétiques thermofusibles sélectionnées de préférence dans la classe des polyoléfines ; la seconde nappe est, quant à elle, constituée de fibres naturelles et/ou artificielles et/ou synthétiques comparativement fines par rapport aux fibres synthétiques de la première nappe et ayant une température de fusion plus élevée que ces dernières ; l'association des nappes élémentaires est réalisée en les soumettant à un traitement permettant de ré-orienter les fibres synthétiques de la première nappe pour que, d'une part, elles soient intimement liées dans la structure de la seconde nappe et, d'autre part, présente des extrémités libres ou bouclettes apparentes sur l'une des faces extérieures du complexe formé.
