[origin: EP0826862A2] The glass door for fire protection purposes has a foaming protection agent containing fire protection disc (4) in the case of fire. The metal profile consists of an elongated metal strip deformed by multiple bending. The ridge (13) is equipped with a recess (19) on the inside of the end face (15) of the fire protection disc. The recess is arranged in a strip under the foaming material that is influenced by heat. Between the inner surface of the side of the handle (10) and the parallel edge surface of the fire protection disc, a silicon layer may be found. This may be bonded to the fire protection disc.
