[origin: EP0826863A2] The roller shutter is made of modular elements (1) with a convex profile to the outside, and a concave profile on the inside. The element construction has pressed aluminium walls over a plastics thermal insulation core. The upper edge of each element has the two walls joined and formed into a hook profile (4) while the lower edge has a formed recess (5) with a hooked edge to form a linked shutter. The curved profile enables the shutter to be rolled into a compact housing. The element height is 35 mm and the curvatures of the outer and inner walls are approx. 36.3 mm and 24.0 mm. The inner thermal cladding is plastic foam and the profile of each element is constant over its width.
