Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0827792A1] Continuous casting die, especially for steel slab, has copper plates for the wide sides of the die supported by cooled back-up plates, narrow sides clamped between the wide sides, and a vibratory mechanism connected to the back-up plates. The wide side back-up plates (21) are of channel section and have coolant passages (52) formed in the walls, with electromagnetic components (61,62) on support frames (31) positioned within the free space (23) of the channel section.
