[origin: EP0827909A1] The tension pliers comprise two pieces which can move relative to each other. One movable piece (15) which grips a strap has a ratchet (18) rotating opposite a support surface (20) fixed on the movable piece. The ratchet, which has a storage notch parallel to the support surface, is subject to a polarisation spring (25) which assists its permanent rotation in one direction. The second fixed piece (16), which provides a stop for the movable piece at rest, comprises a plate (31) in the direction of which the movable piece is permanently moved by the return spring (38). Between the ratchet and the movable piece is a stop which, with the movable piece separated from the plate, defines for the ratchet an end angular position for which the storage notch is more in contact with the support surface. There is a cavity between the stop and the storage notch.
