Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0828267A2] The circuit-breaker has a number of contact pairs with the movable contact carrying arms supported on two pins Ä24Ü that allow pivoting of the carriers to take place when the switch is tripped. The pins are made of an insulating material with conducting metal inserts Ä21Ü that are normally in contact with the carriers. When the switch is tripped an electrically triggered charge Ä28Ü is activated to cause axial displacement of the pins and so break contact.
