[origin: WO9637262A1] The invention concerns an improved fire-fighting method and improved fire-fighting device which employ an extinguishing medium-projecting means, in particular the nozzle of a manual extinguisher, a jet of extinguishing medium being released when an activation member is actuated. By virtue of the invention, it is possible in particular for an unskilled person to extinguish fires more effectively when fighting the source of a fire manually using a small extinguisher. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the extinguishing medium is ejected via the discharge nozzle in at least two qualitatively and/or quantitatively different extinguishing medium flows in an asymmetrical distribution adapted to the fire.
