Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9636720A1] Disclosed are generation of versatile recombinant heregulins and some of the biological functions and intracellular signaling pathways that these proteins trigger following receptor activation. Also disclosed is the cloning of the cDNA fragments encoding the EGF-like domain of HRG- alpha , - beta 2 or - beta 3 into an eukaryotic expression vector and the transfection of the vector into mammalian cells. The recombinant heregulins are useful in activating the HER4 receptor.
