[origin: DE19518746A1] The invention relates to a roofing component (10) which can be covered on its side and ridge edges by roofing panels (50, 54) and has at least one seal contacting the underside of the ridge roofing panel (54) and extending approximately at right angles from its upper side in the region of its ridge end section (18). To provide a universally usable roofing component (10) of the type described which is universally suitable for fitting in roofs, even those covered with heavily profiled roofing panels, and which ensures a durable and reliable seal for the roof covering, it is proposed that the seal take the form of an impermeable ridge sealing lip (20) of plastically deformable material and be corrugated at least in the region of its free edge (30) so that the latter is longitudinally extensible and can be fitted to the longer contour, compared with the root of the ridge sealing lip (20), of the underside of the ridge covering roofing panel (54).
