[origin: WO9638753A1] The invention discloses a process for transforming images, in particular photographs, into stereoscopic images, and the images, video or audiovisual programs containing series of thus obtained images, in particular films and video games. For that purpose, the image background is separated into chromatic components of complementary colours, advantageously red, blue and green. At least one of the chromatic components is moved in relation to the others, advantageously, two chromatic components being slightly moved in opposite directions. The third chromatic component, typically green, remains stationary. Alternatively, two chromatic components are slightly rotated in opposite directions and the third chromatic component remains stationary. The image foreground is then superimposed on the thus modified image background.
