[origin: EP0829306A2] The atomiser (10) is arranged on a surface with a housing (12), in which a drive motor rotates a spray head located on the front side. At least two electrodes (16) accommodated in electrode holders (20) are arranged parallel or obliquely extending concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the housing, fed by at least one high voltage source to produce an electric field. The electric field acts on a spray mist emitted by the spray head against the coating surface. A high voltage source is arranged in each electrode holder, which feeds the associated electrode arranged at the respective front side. Each high voltage source arranged in an electrode holder is connected with a low voltage current source for its supply. The high voltage source arranged for feeding the associated electrode is formed by a cascade, consisting of diodes and capacitors, which acts as a voltage multiplier.
