Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0829413A2] The directional bogie can be articulated by a pivoting system (66) on the structure of a vehicle. It comprises two U-shaped axles (14) connected to a chassis (12) and each carrying two wheels (16). Each axle lateral branch has a portion (22) for carrying a primary suspension part (23). The chassis has two U-shaped cross members (27) separated by a space (28) in which is housed a U-shaped cross member (18) carried by the chassis by two secondary suspensions (40). The chassis has on each side a driving unit for rotating the wheels through reducers. The cross member carries the pivoting system so as to obtain a bogie directional to the vehicle central bottom floor.
