Abstract (en)
Method concerns application of a galvanic chromium coating to an intaglio printing cylinder (3). A part of the surface (4) of the cylinder - which is rotated about its longitudinal axis (3a) and serves as a cathode - is dipped into an electrolyte (2) moving in a turbulent stream through a gap (8) between an anode (5) and the surface (4). The method is characterized by the fact that the electrolyte used is approximately at the room temperature. Also claimed is an apparatus for implementation of the proposed method.

Ein zu verschromender, um seine Längsachse (3a) drehend angetriebener Tiefdruckzylinder (3) taucht mit einem Teil seiner Mantelfläche (4) in einen Elektrolyten (2) ein. Die Mantelfläche (4) des als Kathode dienenden Tiefdruckzylinders (3) bildet mit einem gelochten Anodenblech (7) einer Anode (5) einen Spalt (8). Der Elektrolyt wird aus einer Austrittsdüse (12) in turbulenter Strömung durch diesen Spalt (8) hindurchgeführt. Der Elektrolyt (2) weist etwa Raumtemperatur auf. Mit dieser Verchromungsanlage wird eine gegenüber herkömmlichen Anlagen höhere Stromausbeute erreicht. <IMAGE>
