Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0829682A2] The treated ash from the crematorium oven is dropped into one of three ash boxes on a carousel mounting under the oven. The hot ashes are rotated to a cooling position, covered by a plate (22) over the carousel. In the final position the cooled ashes are loaded into an urn, after removal of metal pieces, and the empty ash box is ready to be moved into the filling position. The ashes from the coffin pass through a post burn stage to ensure complete combustion. A control flap (29) in the bottom of the oven drops each charge of ash into the empty ash box which is then moved to a cooling position allowing the next coffin to be processed.
