Abstract (en)
A transporter for large-calibre shells (9) with propulsive charges, each fitting into an individual sealed chamber, incorporates an immobilising and centering mechanism (20) for each shell, comprising a ring (11) which fits over the tip of the shell and an expander (21) which locks against the inner wall (8) of its container. The ring (11) is made from a thermoplastic material and adjusted to fit against the inside of the container, while the expander has two shoes which press the ring against the inside of the container by means of a compression coupling (37) with an axially-moving conical wedge (26). In a variant of the design the expander is operated by a cam and ball mechanism.

L'invention concerne un dispositif pour assurer le transport de munitions de gros calibre constituées chacune d'une charge propulsive et d'un obus 9 logé dans un conteneur individuel étanche 4. Il comprend des moyens d'immobilisation et de centrage 20 de l'obus 9 dans son conteneur 4, ces moyens étant appliqués sur l'extrémité avant de l'obus et constitués d'un moyen de réception 11 de l'extrémité de l'obus 9 et d'un moyen de dilatation 21 entraînant simultanément une compression sur l'extrémité de l'obus 9 d'une part, et un serrage contre la paroi interne du conteneur 8 d'autre part.
