[origin: EP0829788A2] Under the control of an electronic computer, the workpieces with an adjustable oscillation frequency are moved backwards and forwards between two end points crossways or vertically in relation to the conveyor (1) direction so that overlapping strips of coating material with adjustable width are applied to the passing workpieces. On both sides of the conveyor, three side machine (2), each with a rotary atomiser (3), are positioned. The atomisers in operation carry out cyclical forward and backward movements along vertical guides. A control desk (4) incorporates a control computer with a picture screen. The coating installation is programme-controlled.
