[origin: EP0829888A2] A transformer or choke whose core consists of at least one yoke stack and several, if need be, with an additional yoke stack, limb laminations combined as a core stack for receiving the windings and in which the two yoke stacks, or the single yoke stack, are/is tightly fixed over the limb laminations on the core stack. The mutual fixing of the two yoke stacks or the yoke stack (1), and the core stack (2) is achieved via four shaped welding plates (5.1-5.4) carried along the outer limb laminations and at least partly enclosing the latter, the plates (5.1-5.4) being welded to the end-face sectioned areas of at least one part of the yoke plate of the yoke stack (1) and to two foot plates (6.1-6.2) positioned on the additional yoke stack or on the core stack (2).
