Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0831189A2] The platforms (2,4) are connected together and are attached at one end to a common entrance (5). The ends (1,3) of the platforms remote from the entrance are movable on a vertical guide rail (6). Force transfer device (11) engage on one of the platforms in an area raised during the lifting process so that the lift movement is transferred in part to the end of at least one platform remote from the entrance. There is preferably a uniform but slower movement of the end of the upper platform opposite the entrance during movement of the end of the lower platform. The force transfer device can be a flexible traction element guided over top and bottom locally fixed guide pulleys at the ends of the platforms opposite the entrance.
