[origin: DE19629544A1] Process for working up polyvinylchloride (PVC) comprises:adding the PVC to a liquid rotating slag bath (2); forming a gasifying gas (6) from the PVC, gasifying agent and oxygen, and consisting of H2, CO, CO2, H2O and HCl as well as new slag; and separating the HCl from the gasifying gas according to a known process (e.g. by absorption in water).
