Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0833049A1] Fuel vapour from the fuel tank of an internal combustion engine is absorbed by material in a vapour recovery canister and fed back into the fuel supply system by an electrically controlled valve (9) which has a solenoid (20,21) and return spring (22). In operation the solenoid opens the valve head (18) from it's seating (17) by an amount controlled by a varying rectangular current wave. The shape of the current wave is changed by a microcomputer (10) using data from sensors (23,24) which detect fuel admission pressure and oxygen in the exhaust gas.
