Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0833056A2] The pump housing (G) contains two or more bores accommodating intermeshing gears (Z1,Z2). The gears are positioned in the radial direction by their teeth crowns (ZK) which run against the inside surfaces of the bores in the housing. Axial positioning can be by one or more housing covers (D). Thrust bearings can be formed by portions of the housing and cover and/or a shaft seal, working against the gear end faces. The teeth crowns can be of increased width, and the bearing surfaces can be highly wear-resistant, typically with a coating of wear-resistant material.
