[origin: WO9701031A1] A fuel pump (10) for a vehicular diesel fuel pump member having a control valve assembly which includes a housing having a control valve chamber (20), and an actuatable control valve (34) disposed in the control valve chamber (20). The control valve includes a piston valve body (36) axially movable over a motion displacement interval between first and second positions. The motion displacement interval is defined by first and second sub-intervals bounded by the first and second positions, respectively. The control valve assembly further includes means (32) for actuating the control valve. A valve stop (44) is disposed in the housing adjacent the control valve chamber (20), and a piston valve body seat (90) contacts the valve stop (44) whenever the piston valve body (36) is in the second position. The piston valve body seat (90) contacts a pump body seating surface whenever the piston valve body is in the first position.
