Abstract (en)
Process for protecting a silver surface, esp. of electrical contacts comprises coating the surface with a thin layer which oxidises. The thickness of the tin layer is determined so that the thinnest but completely sealed tin layer is formed. Also claimed is an electrical contact with the above protective tin layer.

Silberoberflächen weisen den Nachteil auf, dass sie anlaufen und korrodieren. Zum Schutz vor einer solchen Korrosion sind vielen Verfahren möglich, die entweder nicht dauerhaft oder zu kompliziert sind. Es wird ein Verfahren vorgestellt, dass sowohl einfach durchzuführen als auch dauerhaft ist. Die Silberoberfläche wird mit einer Hauchverzinnung versehen, die dann oxidiert und somit einen optimalen Schutz bildet.
