Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0834905A2] A sodium high pressure gas discharge lamp of small power output (ie less than 100 watts) has a discharge jar containing at least sodium and xenon. The operating pressure of the former is between 20 and 100 millibars whereas the cold pressure of the latter is between one and three bars and the ratio of the latter to the former is greater than ten but less than thirty. Mercury may also be contained in the jar. The jar may be cylindrical with an inside diameter of between 2.5 and 4 millimetres. The lamp may have additional capacitative ignition aids.
