[origin: EP0834960A2] The socket has a housing (1) containing a contact carrier (2) with the contact insert (6) in a body (4) previously snapped or securely fitted into the housing. At the rear of the body a number of elastic catches (9,9') are distributed around the rim for retention of the insert. A space (10) is provided in one side of the housing for a microswitch (11) to which an additional plug can be connected only when a blocking catch (9') is retracted out of its path. This is not possible until the insert is pushed right into the body.
