Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0835769A1] A device (5) for supporting the tread of a tyre when deflated consists of a rigid support (1) and an elastic cap (2) of a vulcanised rubber mix with a lubricant (5) between the two. The support has two rims (122) cooperating with reinforcing elements (21, 23) in the cap to maintain its radial position. Each rim (122) of the support ring (12) has at least one circumferential groove (124) in which is located a circumferential rib (25) on the inner face of the part of the cap corresponding to the support ring. The rib (25) is at least in contact with the bottom of the groove without it being compressed against it. Preferably the elastic cap (2) has inside its edges reinforcing rods (21) and reinforcing layers composed of aromatic polyamide cables that are bent back around the reinforcing rods which themselves are made of aromatic polyamide.
