Abstract (en)
A drum brake device is provided comprising a first and second brake shoes (2,3) disposed on a back plate (1) . One set of adjacent ends (2a,3a) of the brake shoes engage a brake actuator (8). The other adjacent ends (2b,3b) engage a fixed anchor block (9) . An idler link (11) is pivotally mounted on one of the brake shoes (2,3), which engages at one end with a shoe clearance adjustment device (12) and at its other end with a parking brake actuator (18). The idler link (11) moves in tandem with the first brake shoe (2) when the service brake is applied.
